All India Federation of Motor Vehicle Department Technical Executive Officer's Association was founded at Bangalore on 08-02-1986 at a special meeting presided by Karnataka Association of over 10 States participated in the meeting.

The Federation in validity registered vide registration no: S-628/87-88 dated 19-12-1987 – at Bangalore.

The Executive committee of the Federation which is elected by the General Body once in two years comprises of a President,Vice President,one General Secretary,Joint Secretaries, one Treasurer and Executive Committee members.

Sri D.P.Deshpande was founder General Secretary from Karnataka.

Apart from looking after the welfare of the member associations and safe guarding the service condition of the members, the main objective and aim of the Federation is promotion of Road Safety. To achieve this, the Federation has organized many useful workshops and seminars on Road Safety at Hyderabad, Mumbai, Jaipur, Chennai, Cochin, Trivandrum Lucknow and Gawahati-Assam.

The Federation also takes up issues relating the Amendment of Motor Vehicles Act and Central Motor Vehicles rules. Wherever the amendments proposed are not in the interest of public or against public safety or defective and cannot be enforced.

The Federation also strives hard to up-date the knowledge of member associations in the field of Automobile Engineering, the motor vehicles laws, motor vehicles taxation laws and circulates important decisions of Hon’ble Supreme Court and various Hon’ble High Courts on motor vehicles Act and Rules made there under.

The Federation is also working at bringing in uniform procedure in the Transport Departments in all the states, to increase the efficiency, transparency and to bring in ‘E’ Governance and to deliver better service to the public in the transport offices.
